103. To ask the Minister for Social Protection if he will investigate the non-payment of the €3 State pension rise in the first week of January 2016 and make provision to pay this to all eligible pensioners as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36463/16]

Budget 2016 provided for a €3 increase in the weekly rates of payment for pensioners in receipt of a state pension, the first such increase since 2009. This increase was legislated for in the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015with an effective date of 8 January 2016 for the State Pension Contributory and the State Pension Non Contributory schemes. Accordingly, state pensioners will receive 52 weeks of payment with the €3 increase in 2016.

I trust this clarifies matter for the Deputy.
