570. To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if a Brexit sub-committee has been established in her Department; if so, when the sub-committee was convened; the number of times the sub-committee has met; the number of members on the sub-committee; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A Brexit sub Committee has not been established in my Department, but I am maintaining a close involvement in monitoring the potential implications of the UK's decision to leave the EU.

Last week I held a valuable discussion with the Advisory Council on Better Outcomes Brighter Futures, to consider the possible impact on children and young people of the UK's impending departure from the EU. In particular we considered a number of possible areas for future examination including:

- the challenges and opportunities for children and young people

- any specific needs that children and young people might have

- what our young people want in terms of freedom of movement on the island of Ireland

- how to continue to respect and engage with all young people in Northern Ireland

I intend to have further engagements with the Advisory Council and other key stakeholders as we explore implications of Brexit for our children and young people.
