92. To ask the Minister for Social Protection if and when a non-contributory old age pension will issue to a person (details supplied) whose application was submitted in July 2016 and in respect of whom the relevant social protection office has already visited and made preliminary assessment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Entitlement to State Pension non-contributory is subject to a means test. Items which count as means include cash income, including foreign pensions, the value of any property (excluding a person's own home) and the value of any savings and investments which a person may have.
All the necessary enquiries are almost finalised in this case and the person concerned will be notified of the outcome very shortly.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
