64. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the number of young persons engaged in the asylum process who are also in second level education; and the number of young persons engaged in the asylum process for each of the years since the direct provision system was established who completed their leaving certificates. [32236/16]

All immigrant children, including children of asylum seekers, refugees, migrant workers and unaccompanied minors can access pre-school, first and second level education in a manner similar to Irish nationals, until they have reached the age of 18 years. 

The Education system does not track whether a child enrolling in a school or sitting the Leaving Certificate is an asylum seeker or in direct provision.
