The Programme for a Partnership Government included a commitment to develop a new Community Development Scheme. An indicative budget of some €2 million has been provided for the new scheme in 2017.
The full details of the scheme are being finalised. However, the intention is that it will be targeted at disadvantaged urban and rural areas and will fund capitalprojects that seek to enhance communities, address disadvantage and improve social cohesion at a local level.
