116. To ask the Minister for Health the status of the review of ambulance services in the mid-west; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30695/16]

The National Ambulance Service has undergone a programme of modernisation in recent years and a number of significant service innovations and developments have taken place. These developments will continue in 2017 with increased funding which will be available to the National Ambulance Service for 2017.

With regard to the specific enquiry raised by the Deputy, as this is a service matter I have asked the HSE to respond to you directly.

To ask the Minister for Health the details of the proposed review of the provision of ambulance services in County Clare; if he will undertake that this review will not lead to a reduction in the number of National Ambulance Service vehicles in the county; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
