The non-statutory inquiry to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the distribution of tickets for the Rio Olympic Games and related matters commenced on 19 September 2016.

The inquiry is being led by former High Court judge, Mr Justice Carroll Moran. Under the Terms of Reference for the inquiry, Judge Moran has been asked to present a report, setting out the findings and any recommendations of the inquiry, within 12 weeks of its commencement.

While it is intended that Judge Moran will conclude the inquiry with the allotted time, I would be prepared to consider an extension beyond that period if circumstances require it.
