Carer's Allowance (CA) is a means-tested social assistance payment, made to a person who is providing full-time care and attention to a person who has a disability such that they require that level of care. The Department periodically reviews claims in payment to ensure that there is continued entitlement.

CA is in payment to the person concerned since 16 May 2002 and a review is currently being carried out. Payment of CA will continue throughout the review.

Once processed, the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
