544. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason an application made by a person (details supplied) in County Donegal in respect of a certificate of compliance for the movement of cattle from a single holding to or from another holding for feeding purposes was not generated until 3 June 2015, yet the person can provide a certificate of posting for 28 May 2015; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The legislation governing the movement of bovines requires the source herd who intends to move bovines in a farm to farm transaction to make application for a compliance certificate in advance of the movement off the holding. The onus is then on the destination herd to confirm the movement. The person named did not make an application to move bovines off his holding in either May or June 2015.
