888. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will investigate a case involving his Department (details supplied); his views on the fact that public funds may have been wasted through subsequent legal costs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26806/16]

This question relates to ongoing legal proceedings taken against Sport Ireland, an agency under the aegis of my Department. The proceedings are now before the courts, with a sheduled trial date in November 2016. Pending the determination of the court it would not be appropriate for the Minister to make any comment relating to the proceedings.
