Medical Card Drugs Availability

676. To ask the Minister for Health the names of all drugs which have been removed from or had any restrictions placed upon their use under the general medical services, GMS, medical card scheme since 2014; the numbers of new patients affected by their removal or restriction; the number of patients affected by the newly introduced standard operating for discretionary hardship arrangements, STOP, that is, the number of patients who are prescribed particular drugs but now find these drugs not covered by the GMS medical card scheme. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for the administration of the primary care schemes; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
