As the Deputy is aware, Dublin Midlands Hospital Group produced a draft plan for clinical service delivery at Portlaoise Hospital and when it was discussed with my Department in May, it was agreed that further work was required by the HSE on the draft plan. This further work and consideration is currently on-going within the HSE prior to any final decision on the future design of service provision at Portlaoise Hospital. Once there is an agreed position on the draft plan, it is intended that the Hospital Group will engage closely with all interested parties, to ensure that the needs of patients and staff are addressed.
