To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to outline the way a request for an injury warrant in respect of prison officers is assessed by his Department, taking into account the advice of the Chief Medical Officer; if he will provide information guidelines on the way this matter is dealt with; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Injury warrant cases, which occur very infrequently, are assessed by my department on an individual basis taking account of all relevant factors, including any medical evidence that may be adduced.
