My Department’s primary contact-point with our citizens is through our Passport Service which communicates with a significant number of citizens each year via An Post.

In that regard, the Passport Service has considered how best to use Eircode in order to improve our communications with our customers. We have upgraded our processes to allow for the capture and use of Eircode, while a modified passport application form has been introduced which includes a new Eircode field in the address section.

In addition, the ‘Contact Us’ page of my Department’s website – www.dfa.ie– includes the relevant Eircodes for each of the Department’s office addresses. My Department will continue to keep this issue under review to ensure maximum utilisation of Eircode.

There are no agencies under the aegis of my Department.
