Momentum Programme

218. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the full year cost in 2017 of increasing the Momentum programme by 20% on a voluntary basis for persons in receipt of disability allowance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20725/16]

The criteria for eligibility to participate in the Momentum programme is a matter for the Department of Social Protection.

SOLAS has informed me that the estimated cost of training a participant in the current Momentum programme is approximately €3,200. Based on that figure, the cost to increase the number of places by 20% would be €3.84million.
