To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his proposals to raise the investment ceiling under the targeted agricultural modernisation scheme 2 from €80,000 to €300,000 in view of the complex nature of pig units and the overall costs involved in carrying out the appropriate works. There are no plans currently to increase the ceiling in the Pig and Poultry Investment Scheme of TAMS II from €80,000. Any increase in this ceiling would require a formal amendment to the Rural Development Plan and approval from the European Commission.
