The application for carer’s allowance in respect of the person concerned was awarded on 5 July 2016 and the first payment is due to issue to the person’s nominated bank account on 14 July 2016.

Arrears of allowance due from 26 November 2015 have issued to the bank for payment on 14 July 2016.

The person concerned was notified of these details on 5 July 2016.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.

I am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that an Appeals Officer, having fully considered all of the available evidence including that adduced at the oral hearing, has decided to allow the appeal of the person concerned. The person concerned has been notified of the Appeals Officer’s decision

The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions in relation to social welfare entitlements.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
