Rates of Public Sector allowances and policies regarding their application are generally agreed centrally by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) or on a case by case basis between my Department and DPER . My Department will be guided by DPER in these matters . It is not possible at this time to assess the costs that may be associated with any potential changes to allowances.
