The Department of Social Protection and the Department of Work and Pensions in the United Kingdom have arrangements in place to support persons claiming benefits and assistance. These obligations are mutually agreed and are supported by EU legislation on the coordination of social security systems. The Department of Social Protection is not aware of any difficulties or delays with information exchange with the United Kingdom authorities, although delays can occur in individual cases. If the Deputy wishes to advise me of delays in a particular case, officials can liaise directly with the Department of Work and Pension to seek to resolve the matter.
