285. To ask the Minister for Social Protection his views on the future of the social welfare office in Swinford, County Mayo; if he can assure people in east County Mayo that there are no plans to close the office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16818/16]

The current manager of the Social Welfare Branch Office in Swinford, County Mayo has tendered his resignation with effect from 30thJuly 2016. The Department is examining the provision of services in the area and no decision has been made on the future of this office at this time. The Deputy will be kept informed of any future decision.
