217. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the action he will take about the requirement for the replacement of the K block in a school (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17252/16]

The Deputy will be aware that a project for the school to which he refers was included in my Department's 6 Year Capital Programme which was announced last November. The project for the school in question will be progressed with a view to proceeding to tender and construction stages in 2019-2021, as outlined in the programme.

I understand that my Department is currently finalising the school project brief and once this process is complete, the project will be progressed into the Architectural Planning process.

In the meantime, my Department has advised the school authority that it is open to it to submit an Emergency Works Grant Application for the most minimal and urgent works as an interim measure.
