341. To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade the amount of money spent on daily newspapers in 2015; if this is an appropriate expenditure given the available and far cheaper on-line alternatives; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15433/16]

My Department spent €22,450 on daily newspapers up to the end of September 2015. This is a reduction from €73,731 in 2011. This reduction was achieved by a move to a greater use of online newspapers and magazines for Headquarters and Missions abroad.
