272. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if he is aware that the executive of Sligo County Council, in a report to councillors dated 1 June 2016, stated that payments for works carried out under the special resolution fund by Sligo County Council were made without deduction of relevant contract tax; and that when the Revenue Commissioners contacted the council querying the tax treatment that had been applied to payments made from the fund, the council advised the Revenue Commissioners that payments were made without deducting the relevant contract tax in line with the guidance issued by his Department. My Department has not received a copy of the report referred to and has no function in this matter, which is an operational matter for Sligo County Council.
