Under section 159 of the Local Government Act 2001, each Chief Executive is responsible for staffing and organisational arrangements necessary for carrying out the functions of the local authorities for which he or she is responsible. In this regard, recruitment of staff is a matter for each Chief Executive. The table below lists the posts sanctioned by my Department in response to requests from local authorities since 2014. These posts are made up of staff both directly funded by my Department to deliver on the goals of the Social Housing Strategyas well as staff funded through the local authorities own resources who work in or closely to the housing area.
