To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the funding his Department allocated to schools to cover ancillary services such as the employment of a school secretary or caretaker in each of the years 2006 to 2016 to date in tabular form; the cost of restoring this to 2008 levels taking increases in demographics into account; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The table attached contains the breakdown of ancillary services grant to primary and voluntary secondary schools from 2007 to 2016.
The rate of grants in 2016 are at or above the rate of grants in 2008.
The rate of grant reached its highest level in 2010 and were subsequently reduced in line with budgetary measures.
