726. As the Deputy is aware my Department has developed a new implementation proposal for the National Positive Ageing Strategy. This plan proposes on-going structured engagement between relevant Government Departments and State Agencies and relevant stakeholders with the aim of developing clear channels of communications and regular more direct engagements on specific issues.
The Senior Officials Group has already been given an outline of the new approach proposed, but a detailed and formal presentation is still to be made. This will be done in the near future after which the matter will be referred to the Cabinet Committee on Social Policy and Public Sector Reform.
