697. To ask the Minister for Health if he has or will support the Minister with responsibility for environment affairs in France in calling on the European Commission to publish the impact assessment on endocrine disrupters when it is completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have not been in contact with the European Commission on this matter. However, I have been informed that endocrine disrupting chemicals were discussed at the Environment Council on 4 March 2016 in Brussels. At that Council, Commissioner Andriukaitis informed Member States that the Commission would bring forward proposals specifying scientific criteria for the determination of endocrine-disrupting properties, as required under the Biocidal Products Regulation, by summer 2016.
