To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of times she has had contact with the Garda Commissioner by telephone, in person or by any other method of communication since the publication of the O’Higgins report; the number of these communications that mentioned the report; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As the Minister for Justice and Equality I have regular discussions with the Garda Commissioner in relation to various aspects of policing, crime and the security of the State. In accordance with long-standing practice and precedent I do not propose to give details of those discussions.
