To ask the Minister for Health why the Health Information and Quality Authority has instructed all those who use the services of home help providers to have key lock boxes installed outside their home to store their house keys in rather than placing it in the care of the home help provider; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is the independent authority established under the Health Act 2007 to drive continuous improvement and to monitor safety and quality in Ireland’s health and personal social care services. HIQA currently does not regulate, or set standards for, the homecare sector.
