I can confirm that the school referred to by the Deputy was approved capital funding in 2015 for the provision of significant additional permanent classroom accommodation to meet essential school accommodation needs. In that regard, my Department has not been contacted by the school concerned regarding the question of temporary accommodation.

I wish to advise the Deputy that a suitable permanent site for the school to which he refers has been identified and the acquisition process is underway. When this process is complete, the proposed project for the school concerned will progress into architectural planning.

I wish to advise the Deputy that a suitable site has been identified and the acquisition process is underway for the purpose of providing permanent school accommodation in Carrigtwohill.
As the Deputy will be aware, however, a process is currently underway by the Patron in relation to the proposed amalgamation of the two schools concerned. The building project that it will be possible to progress into architectural planning will depend on the outcome of this process.
