Summer Works Scheme Expenditure

726. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the expenditure allocated in County Kildare and nationally under the summer works scheme in each of the years 2007 to 2015, inclusive; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7042/16]

Expenditure incurred on the Summer Works Scheme in the Primary and Post Primary Sector for the years 2007 to 2015 nationally was as follows: 2007 - €121.618 million; 2008 - €17.672 million; 2009 - €103.515 million; 2010 - €131.599 million; 2011 - €53.527 million; 2012 - €3.231 million; 2013 - €1.321 million; 2014 - €58.596 million; and 2015 - €38.918 million.

In addition to the Summers Works Schemes the following sums were expended on the Jobs Initiative nationally: 2011 - €30.779 million; and 2012 - €8.500 million.

The figures in respect of County Kildare was: 2008 - €0.360 million; 2009 - €3.179 million; 2010 - €4.188 million; 2011 - €2.858 million; 2012 - €0.510 million; 2013 - €0.071 million; 2014 - €1.898 million; and 2015 - €1.096 million.
