287. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his plans to tender for the next haulage contract of reactor cattle in County Clare (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5684/16]

The current contract relating to the provision of a service for the haulage of TB reactor cattle and other animals for disease control purposes runs until June 2017. My Department can extend the contract for a further period or periods of up to one year from that date subject to the other provisions of the contract. It is therefore not proposed to seek a new tender for this service until 2017 at the earliest.
