To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to examine the issue of overcrowding on Irish Rail services on the Dublin-Maynooth line; to ensure Irish Rail provide additional carriages or more frequent services to prevent such overcrowding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issues raised are matters for the National Transport Authority (NTA) in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to both the NTA and the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive responses within ten working days.
