​The National Transport Authority is responsible for the delivery of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) in cooperation with the relevant local authority, in this case Kildare County Council.  The Royal Canal project to which the Deputy refers is part of the overall Dublin to Galway Greenway which is a priority project for my Department and one which I am fully supportive of.​ I am forwarding your question in relation to the section mentioned to the NTA for attention and full response to you.  If you have not received a reply within 10 working days please contact my office.
