601. To ask the Minister for Health further to Question No. 181 of 1 October 2015, to provide the status of plans for a second sexual abuse and violence in Ireland study; the co-ordination he has undertaken with the relevant Departments on the basis of contact from the Minister for Justice and Equality; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I would like to advise the Deputy that I have no function in relation to this matter.

The Deputy will recall in my reply to her question in October 2015 that I confirmed that I am supportive of follow up research in this area. However, consideration of any further research is a matter for the Department of Justice and Equality/COSC. It should be noted that responsibility for rape crisis services rests with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
