I am advised that as gaps arise across my Department they are assessed through the workforce planning process, having due regard to Department of Public Expenditure and Reform directives, guidelines and circulars on staffing.

Irish is the working language of my Department’s Gaeltacht Division which provides a full service through Irish to members of the public. There are currently 49 staff assigned to the Gaeltacht Division of my Department and staffing in the division is subject to ongoing review through the workforce planning process to ensure appropriate and effective deployment of available resources in the light of emerging business needs and priorities. There are, presently, 3 vacancies in the Gaeltacht division.
