The project at the school referred to by the Deputy is at an advanced stage of the tender process for the provision of a new School and demolition of the existing building. The tender report for the project was recently submitted to the Department and is currently being reviewed. As the Deputy will be aware, a project to facilitate the amalgamation of two post primary schools at the location in question, is included in the 6 Year Construction Programme that I announced last November and is scheduled to proceed to tender and construction in 2018.
My Department is in ongoing contact with the school authorities in relation to initiating the architectural planning process for the project.
