To ask the Minister for Health why parents of children awaiting an assessment of need in County Cork are being advised to submit a formal complaint to the Health Service Executive in order to speed up the process; the purpose of this policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The particular issue raised by the Deputy is a service matter for the Health Service Executive. Accordingly I have arranged for the question to be referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply to the Deputy.
