261. To ask the Minister for Defence the number of women serving in the Army, Naval Service and Air Corps, by rank; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3263/16]

The total number of women serving in the Army, Naval Service and Air Corps was 552 as of 31 December, 2015. The number serving in all three branches of the Defence Forces is broken down by rank in Table 2 below:-
