195. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if the Land Commission retains any sporting rights on lands, and if not who has these rights; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2910/16]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 195 and 196 together.

Sporting rights which were vested in the former Irish Land Commission are now managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service which is part of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

It is not possible to confirm the position for the Deputy in respect of the sporting rights for the lands detailed within the short timeframe available. My Department will write directly to the Deputy within the next two weeks.
