A total of 26,321 farmers are currently participating in the new Beef Data and Genomics Programme which forms part of the Rural Development Programme 2015-2020. The following table outlines the number of applicants who actively participated in the Suckler Cow Welfare Scheme in 2011 and 2012 and the Beef Data Programmes in the years 2013 and 2014 :
