To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of farmers who have been accepted into tranche one of the GLAS; the average annual payment approved and the number of farmers with a start date of 1 October and 1 January 2016, by county; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to say that in October 24, 430 approval letters issued to farmers confirming their acceptance into the scheme. The commencement dates of contracts are set out in tabular form on a county by county basis:
