I propose to take Questions Nos. 550 and 551 together.
The aim of my Department’s Local and Community Development Programmes was to tackle poverty and social exclusion in disadvantaged communities. The programme provided funding of €281 million to communities during the period January 2010 to end March 2015, when the new Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) was rolled out across communities, following a competitive tendering process.
The details requested by the Deputy in relation to the number of persons who progressed into employment or self-employment as a result of Local Community Development Programme interventions on a county basis are set out in the following table.
County | Number of participants that progressed into employment from 1 January 2010 – 31 March 2015 | Number of participants that progressed into self-employment from 1 January 2010 – 31 March 2015 |
