To ask the Minister for Health why the older computed tomography scanner in University Hospital Waterford was closed upon the opening of the new computed tomography unit in April 2015, if the older scanner was in working order when it was closed and how many scans were performed in 2014 on the old scanner, if the staff who operated the older scanner were re-deployed to utilise the new scanner, if the old scanner is still located at the hospital or if it has been relocated to a different hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
