To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the amount collected from the national training levy in each of the years 2010 to 2015 to date; a breakdown of the use of this funding by types of course or programme, by apprenticeship, by traineeship, by further education, by third level, by research, etc; the purpose of the fund, and the evolution of its use over the past number of years. The National Training Fund (NTF) was established in 2000 to raise the skills of those in employment and to provide training to those who wish to acquire skills to take up employment. It is also used to provide information in relation to existing, or likely future, requirements for skills in the economy. NTF income includes National Training Levy receipts, European Social Fund refunds and European Globalisation Funds.
