Responsibility for the management of the Rural Transport Programme (RTP) was assigned to the National Transport Authority (NTA) with effect from April 2012. This includes responsibility for the restructuring of the RTP which has involved the establishment of 17 Transport Co-ordination Units under the Local Link brand.
