212. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills her plans to limit the number of pupils entering a school (details supplied) in County Dublin to 150 in each year; if this is not the case, the optimum number of students to be accepted per year going forward; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that the matter of enrolment in individual schools is the responsibility of the managerial authority of those schools. My Department's main responsibility is to ensure that schools in an area can, between them, cater for all pupils seeking places in an area. This may result, however, in some pupils not obtaining a place in the school of their first choice.

My Department has provided grant aid to the school in question to create additional classrooms within the school and I understand that reconfiguration work is currently in progress. In addition, the school recently installed additional temporary classrooms which will increase the school's student capacity.
