281. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the number of civil servants under her remit who have been re-instated in recent years after taking a career break; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [38732/15]

The career break scheme in the civil service is operated in accordance with administrative circulars issued by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, with the latest circular relating to this matter being Circular 4 of 2013.
The following table details the number of staff who have been facilitated with a return to work following the expiry of their career break in the Department in the period from 2010 to date.
