1184. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the basis on which the consultation on the draft transport strategy 2016 to 2035 for the greater Dublin area and the associated strategic environmental assessment and appropriate assessment has commenced; why there appears to be detailed technical documents relating to all areas except Dublin 15; the reason there is no technical report accompanying the strategy; the reason the only reference to Dublin 15 is in maps and in the orbital route material; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). The recently published draft Transport Strategy for the GDA (2016 - 2035) was prepared by the NTA in line with its statutory remit.

The draft Strategy is subject to a statutory public consultation and members of the public and all interested parties are invited to review the proposals, and the supporting documentation, on the NTA's website () and to make submissions to the Authority from the 15 October until the deadline of 5:00pm on Friday November 13, 2015.

I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply in relation to technical aspects of the draft Strategy and the ongoing public consultation process.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.
