6. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the reason a payment for clothing to a person (details supplied) under the supplementary welfare allowance was refused; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [35201/15]

The person concerned applied for a supplementary welfare allowance payment towards clothing on 5thNovember, 2014. This application was refused as no exceptional need was considered to exist. The person concerned was informed of and afforded the right to a review of this decision. The original decision of the designated person was upheld on review.
